Man charged with robbing bank, gas station
is indicted
GOSHEN – An Orange County grand jury Monday indicted a Newburgh
man on charges that he held up a credit union and a gas station,
both on the same day early in June.
District Attorney Frank Phillips said Kenneth Kelsey, 21, faces
charges from two incidents on the same day.
It is alleged that that he held up the Winona Lake Xtra Mart with
what appeared to be a handgun and also on the same day, June 4,
the Hudson Heritage Federal Credit Union in Washingtonville. In
that robbery, he also produced what appeared to be a handgun.
Kelsey was arrested later that day after a joint investigation
by Washingtonville Village Police, Town of Newburgh Police and State
Police and charged with second-degree robbery.
He is being held in the Orange County Jail without bail.
