Monticello woman arrested on several drug
charges
MONTICELLO – Monticello Village Police Sunday arrested a
Monticello woman on drug charges following an investigation into
her whereabouts for the last two weeks.
Joan Renee James, 39, was charged with two counts of criminal possession
of a controlled substance in the third degree, two counts of criminally
using drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance in
the seventh degree and unlawful possession of marijuana.
On June 12, with the assistance of the Sullivan County Sheriff’s
Office, village police executed a search warrant at 9 Monticello
Gardens Apartments on Moon Manor Road. Four people were arrested
including her 18-year-old son, Tivone James. He was charged with
several felony drug offenses.
Joan James was spotted sitting in the back seat of a vehicle early
Sunday morning and arrested. The Sheriff’s Office and Wallkill
Town Police wanted her on bench warrants.
The driver of the vehicle, Britte Arrington, 58, of Monticello,
was charged with possession of drugs in the seventh degree after
police found he had two tin foils with crack cocaine on him.
