Man charged with unlawful surveillance

KINGSTON – Police have charged a 46-year-old City of Kingston man on charges of unlawful surveillance in the second degree, a felony, and possession of eaves dropping devices, a misdemeanor.

Joseph Leech of Ten Broeck Avenue was arrested after an investigation and the execution of a search warrant at his resident. It is anticipated additional charged will be filed, police said.

He was arraigned and remanded to the Ulster county Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.

The investigation was conducted by the Ulster County Family Violence Investigation Unit comprised of the State Police, Town of Ulster, Ulster Sheriff’s Office, City of Kingston Police and Ulster County child Protective Services.
