Sexual attack conviction upheld

KINGSTON – The Appellate Division of State Supreme Court has affirmed the April 2005 conviction of Clarence Perrineau on charges of rape in the third degree, criminal sexual act in the third degree and endangering the welfare of a child.

Perrineau’s conviction stems from an incident that occurred on the evening of July 2, 2004 where he raped and sodomized his 16-year-old legally blind daughter while his four-year-old son was sleeping in the same room.

Perrineau is a second felony offender, was sentenced to 1 ¾ years to 3 ½ years in prison.

The court issued an order of protection and ordered him to register as a sex offender.
