Teenage girl who stabbed boyfriend to death
pleads guilty
WHITE PLAINS – The Peekskill girl who stabbed her boyfriend
to death with a 12-inch kitchen knife Thursday pled guilty in Westchester
County Court to manslaughter in the first degree and criminal possession
of a weapon in the fourth degree.
LaTonya Fisher, 17, admitted she argued with Justin Woodward, 17,
on the evening of January 3, 2008 at her apartment in Peekskill.
She stabbed him in the back perforating a lung and his heart, resulting
in tremendous loss of blood.
When sentenced in August, Fisher faces from five to 25 years in
state prison.
On the night of the crime, Peekskill Police received a 911 hang-up
call from her apartment. When they called her back, she said she
misdialed a number. Later that evening, police received a second
911 call and when police responded, they found Fisher sitting on
the floor of her living room holding Woodward.
She told police they had an argument and she had stabbed him. The
knife was found in the nearby kitchen wrapped in a bag.
Emergency medical personnel who responded to the scene found no
signs of life in the victim, who was pronounced dead.
