Guilty plea in Westchester sexual attack
WHITE PLAINS – A Brentwood man Tuesday pled guilty to a charge
of rape in the first degree in connection with an attack on a woman
as she went to buy potato chips and soda.
Robert McIntyre, 39, faces between five and 25 years in state prison
when sentenced in July. He is a predicate violent felony offender,
the DA’s office said.
On July 22, 2006 at about 12 a.m., the victim left a neighborhood
party in Yonkers to purchase additional potato chips and soda. While
returning from the grocery store, she was approached by McIntyre
and an unidentified man who robbed her at knifepoint. The unidentified
man fled with the grocery bags.
McIntyre then forced the victim into a basement utility room, knocked
her to the floor, pinned her with his knees and began beating her
with his fists. He then tore the victim’s clothes off and
raped her.
The defendant threatened to find and kill the victim if she reported
the rape.
The victim went to St. Joseph’s Medical Center and was treated.
The rape kit, prepared and sent to the lab, matched the defendant’s
DNA.
