Man
gets five to 25 for assault, burglary
NEW CITY – A Spring Valley man has pled guilty in Rockland
County Court to breaking into a home on Long Ridge Road in Spring
Valley and robbing the occupants while armed with a knife. He faces
five to 25 years in state prison when sentenced in August. The DA’s
office will seek 17 ½ to 25 years.
Emerson Daniel Martinez-Salas, 22, entered the home through a window
in July 2006, woke up three residences and while armed with a knife,
threatened them demanding money. He admitted that he held a knife
at the back of a nine-year-old daughter of one if the victims.
Spring Valley Police arrested Martinez-Salas when they responded
to a 911 call from one of the residents at the home.
Martinez-Salas pled guilty to first-degree robbery and first-degree
burglary.
