Teen indicted on sex charges related to
mother’s daycare center
GOSHEN – A Newburgh teen has been indicted by an Orange County
grand jury for allegedly engaging in criminal sex acts with a boy
under the age of 11.
The grand jury charged Christopher Johnson of the City of Newburgh
with criminal sexual act in the first degree, sexual abuse in the
first degree and endangering the welfare of a child, all in connection
with an incident on April 25, said District Attorney Frank Phillips.
Johnson’s mother ran daycare operation in Newburgh and it’s
alleged the victim was one of the daycare children,” he said.
Johnson was arrested by Newburgh City Police four days after the
crime was committed.
He is being held in the Orange County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
