Three fatal accidents investigated in Sullivan
County
SULLIVAN COUNTY – The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office
is investigating two fatal motor vehicle accidents which occurred
over the weekend. State Police are investigating a third auto accident
that resulted in a death.
On Friday at about 10:45p.m., Sullivan County Sheriff’s deputies
were called to a car-pedestrian accident on State Route 97 in the
Town of Delaware.
Pronounced dead at the scene was George Quinn, 17, of Callicoon.
Quinn, a pedestrian, had been struck by two vehicles that left the
scene.
Deputies located one of the vehicles a short time later and arrested
Dwayne Clark, 47, of Jeffersonville. Clark was charged with vehicular
manslaughter in the first degree, felony DWI and unlicensed operation.
The second vehicle, which deputies are searching for, is described
as a small silver or gray car which may have lower front end or
under carriage damage. The Sheriff’s Office is asking the
public for assistance in locating the second vehicle. You can reach

On Sunday morning at about 2:10 a.m., deputies were called to a
one car accident in Fosterdale on County Route 114 near Mitchell
Pond Road. At that location deputies found one person ejected and
a second one injured when a minivan ran off the road and rolled
over.
Joseph Pucci, 70, and Michael Taylor, 43, both of Hicksville, Long
Island, were traveling westbound on County Route 114 at about 2:10
a.m., when their minivan left the road and overturned in a field
near the intersection of Mitchell Pond Road.
Pucci, who police believe was the driver, was not wearing his seat
belt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at
the scene by Sullivan County Coroner Tom Warren. The passenger,
Michael Taylor, remained in the vehicle, but suffered a head injury.
He remains at Catskill Regional Medical Center in stable condition.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by New York State Troopers,
Lake Huntington Fire Dept. and Cochecton Volunteer Ambulance Corp.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
In the third accident, a person was killed in a crash on Route 52
in White Sulfur Springs overnight Friday into Saturday. State Police
had no details available for release Sunday evening.
