Arrests made in Hyde Park vandalism
HYDE PARK -- The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office has arrested
two young men for criminal mischief done to schools in the Hyde
Park School District.
Charged were Zachary Bedell, of Hyde Park, and Rae Paul Steele,
of Poughkeepsie, both 18. The arrests were the result of a joint
investigation involving the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office,
the Dutchess County Field Intelligence Group, and the Hyde Park
Police Department.
Bedell was charged with two counts of Criminal Mischief in the third
degree, a felony, and two counts of Making Graffiti, a misdemeanor.
Steele was charged with one count each of Criminal Mischief Third,
and Making Graffiti.
The two men are accused of doing more than $1,000 in damage to the
Netherwood School, and over $350 in damage to the North Park School.
Both men are scheduled to appear in the Town of Hyde Park next week.
