Troopers seize 11 pounds of pot

LIVINGSTON – for the second time in less than a week, State Police from the Livingston Barracks seized marijuana headed for the Pittsfield, Massachusetts area on the Taconic State Parkway.

Shortly before 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, police stopped a car going northbound in the Town of Taghkanic for speeding. That resulted in the arrests of three Berkshire County men and the seizure of 10 pounds of marijuana with a street value of $15,000. They were on their way back to Massachusetts from New York City.

Arrested and charged with first-degree criminal possession of marijuana were Travis Clairmont, 29, of Pittsfield, Marc Tucker, 29, of Florida, Mass and Stephen Jones, 30, of Williamstown, Mass.

They were all remanded to the Columbia County Jail pending future court appearances.

On last Thursday, April 24, troopers stopped a vehicle speeding north on the Taconic headed for Pittsfield. That resulted in the seizure of one pound of high grade marijuana and the arrest of Drissa Diawara, 42, of the Bronx.
