Parolee arrested on drug charges following
vehicle pursuit
MONTICELLO – A 23-year-old Monticello man, who is on parole
for a prior felony drug conviction, has been arrested by Monticello
Village Police on a number of charges including possession of marijuana
in the second degree for allegedly possessing two pounds of pot.
Police stopped the Ford Explorer Andre Davis was driving in an
erratic manner on Shaker Heights Drive. The officer smelled marijuana
and asked Davis if he had pot in the vehicle. Davis said he did
and as the officer radioed for back up, Davis took off.
As he fled, he attempted to discard plastic bags of marijuana onto
the roadway. He was stopped by officers and the marijuana was recovered.
In addition to the marijuana charge, Davis was charged with tampering
with physical evidence in the third degree, unlawful fleeing of
a police officer, reckless endangerment in the second degree, obstructing
governmental administration, resisting arrest, driving while ability
impaired by drugs, reckless driving, violation of parole and several
vehicle and traffic violations.
