Gunman hits Dunkin Donuts

TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – Police in the Town of Poughkeepsie are investigating a robbery that occurred around 4:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 23 at the Dunkin Donuts store at 764 Main Street.

A man walked into the store armed with a dark sawed off shotgun, placed a bag on the counter and demanded that the employee empty the contents of the cash register into it.

The gunman is described as a light skinned black person in his early 20s, about 5-feet, 11 inches tall, weighing between 140 to 150 pounds, wearing dark pants, a black hoodie, white sneakers and a blue bandana partially covering his face.
He fled on foot in the direction of Lewis Avenue with an unknown amount of cash.

There were no injuries. The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call Poughkeepsie Town Police at 845-485-3666.
