Man alleges being robbed at gunpoint

NEWBURGH – A Newburgh man told police that he was robbed at gunpoint last Friday night and that two windows in his vehicle were shot out.

The man and a woman who was driving the vehicle said they stopped near Lander and Farrington streets and were approached by a man and woman. The man put a gun to the male passenger’s head and ordered him to give him money.

He told police later three to four other men arrived and punched and kicked him. They made off with $600 in cash, he told police.

They fled the scene with the driver telling police she heard a loud pop believed to be gunfire and heard the rear driver side window and front passenger side window shatter.
