Guilty plea to witness intimidation in Halloween
homicide
WHITE PLAINS – A Mount Vernon man pled guilty in Westchester
County Court on Monday to intimidating a victim or witness in the
second degree, a felony.
Westchester District Attorney Janet DiFiore said Jason Jennings
attacked the victim, who was a witness in a homicide that occurred
on October 31, 2007 in Mount Vernon.
On November 5, 2007 at about 2:15 p.m., in the vicinity of Elwood
and Sheridan avenues in Mount Vernon, Jennings attacked the witness.
During the attack, he called the victim a “snitch” and
threatened the victim saying, “This is not over,” because
the victim had provided information to Mount Vernon Police about
the homicide.
Jennings was arrested the next day.
Nyanda Charlie, 19, also of Mount Vernon, was indicted last November
on one count of murder in the second degree and two counts of criminal
possession of a weapon in the death of Neville Webb, a security
guard in Mount Vernon. His trial is pending.
When Jennings is sentenced in July, he faces up to seven years in
prison.
