Second teen arrested for graffiti
TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – Police have arrested a second 15-year-old
boy for making graffiti in the Arlington area of the Town of Poughkeepsie.
The arrest was the result of an ongoing investigation stemming
from an incident that occurred on April 15 when a citizen witnessed
two youths making graffiti on a commercial building, and called
police.
When officers got there, they detained one youth while the other
fled.
The second youth was arrested and charged with making graffiti,
a misdemeanor. He was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Dutchess
County Family Court and was released to a parent.
When police responded to the scene of the graffiti paining, they
confiscated seven cans of spray paint, paint rollers, a five gallon
bucket of paint and a book of graffiti sketches. The sketches, as
well as the graffiti on the buildings, are similar to the graffiti
that has been applied to several buildings in the Arlington business
area in recent weeks, police said.
