Woman charged with drug possession

WALDEN – A Walden woman has been arrested on drug charges following an investigation in the Village of Walden.

On Friday morning at approximately 5:45 a.m. members of the Village of Walden Police Department and Orange County Sheriff's Office conducted a "no-knock" search warrant at 31 South Montgomery Street in Walden.

The warrant concluded a two month investigation into the sale of cocaine and marijuana from the third floor apartment.
Sarah Cooper, 24, was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, both felonies, five counts of criminal sale of marijuana in the fourth degree as a misdemeanor, and five counts of unlawful possession of marijuana as a violation.

She was turned over to Orange County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. More arrests are expected, police said.

Working together, the two agencies have conducted approximately 20 similar operations over the past few years.
