Attempted Robbery on Rose Street

POUGHKEEPSIE -- City of Poughkeepsie Police are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred on Rose Street at approximately 1:50 a.m. Friday.

The victim was walking to his residence when he was accosted by a group of six to eight young black males who demanded money. One of the suspects was armed with a baseball bat and two of them were carrying sticks.

The victim fled to his residence and informed the suspects he was calling police. The suspects left the area on foot, headed north. One was wearing all black, one was wearing red pants and a white t-shirt and one was wearing blue shorts and a white t-shirt, police said.
