Son charged with selling cocaine at father’s gas station

MIDDLETOWN – The Mid-Hudson Drug Task Force has arrested a 19-year-old Middletown man for selling cocaine at the Sunoco gas station on Dolson Avenue.

Task force supervising officer Senior Investigator Otis Cowart said Alawi Alhumaidi was under surveillance for three months during which he sold cocaine to undercover operatives.

Alhumaidi’s father and uncle own the gas station.

He was charged with three counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree, possession of marijuana in the fifth degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree for possessing metal chukka sticks. Police also confiscated $20,000 in cash when they raided the gas station and arrested Alhumaidi.

He was arraigned and remanded to the Orange County Jail on $75,000 bail.
