Teen charged with stealing car, possessing
drugs
MONTICELLO – A 16-year-old Monticello youth was arrested
Thursday for allegedly stealing a car, crashed it and later being
caught in Monticello with $1,200 work of crack cocaine.
Village Police charged Robert Bowser with criminal possession of
a controlled substance in the third and fifth degrees, criminal
possession of stolen property in the third degree, unauthorized
use of a motor vehicle in the third degree, criminal impersonation
in the second degree, resisting arrest and several vehicle and traffic
violations.
Police said that on Thursday morning, he was driven a 2008 Toyota
Corolla he had stolen earlier from a home in Fallsburg and while
on Forestburg Road he caused a three-car accident when he rear-ended
another vehicle.
He jumped out of the car and fled. Police were able to gain his
identity and shortly after noon, he was spotted on Broadway.
Police chased and caught Bowser, who had 63 zip lock bags of crack
cocaine with a street value of $1,200, police said.
