MONTICELLO – A 16-year-old Monticello youth was arrested Thursday for allegedly stealing a car, crashed it and later being caught in Monticello with $1,200 work of crack cocaine.

Village Police charged Robert Bowser with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third and fifth degrees, criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in the third degree, criminal impersonation in the second degree, resisting arrest and several vehicle and traffic violations.

Police said that on Thursday morning, he was driven a 2008 Toyota Corolla he had stolen earlier from a home in Fallsburg and while on Forestburg Road he caused a three-car accident when he rear-ended another vehicle.

He jumped out of the car and fled. Police were able to gain his identity and shortly after noon, he was spotted on Broadway.

Police chased and caught Bowser, who had 63 zip lock bags of crack cocaine with a street value of $1,200, police said.
