Deli employee charged with burglarizing shop twice

POUGHKEEPSIE – Police in the Town of Poughkeepsie have arrested an employee of the Sandwich Shop at 81 Fallkill Avenue in the town for allegedly stealing cash and merchandise from the store on two occasions.

Joseph Yankevich, 26, of 166 Academy Street in the City of Poughkeepsie was charged with two counts of burglary in the third degree and two counts of petit larceny.

It is alleged that he reentered the store on April 10 and 11 after it had closed and stole money and merchandise.

Yankevich was arraigned and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail pending a future court appearance.
