Man charged with failing to register his address

POUGHKEEPSIE – A 43-year-old Town of Amenia man has been charged with a violation of the Sex Offender Registry Act.

Timothy Robinson, who is a convicted level three sex offender, was arrested by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office after he moved to the Town of Amenia from the Town of Dover and failed to notify the sheriff’s office.

State law requires that persons on the Sex Offender Registry must notify authorities of a new address within 10 days of their move.

Robinson failed to notify the sheriff’s office and was arrested for violating the statute.
The charge is a felony. He was arrested and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail with no bail.
