Kingston man charged with gun possession
NEWBURGH – City Police in Newburgh have charged a Kingston
man with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree for
having a pistol.
Police conducted a traffic stop near 355 South William Street shortly
after 1 a.m. on April 15. A female driver and two male passengers
were in the car. None was from the Newburgh area and the vehicle
had out-of-state plates.
Police searched the car and found a Sturm Ruger P-90 .45 caliber
semi-automatic pistol with eight rounds of ammunition under the
front passenger seat.
After questioning all three people, the front seat passenger, identified
as Nicolas Golding, 26, of 1119 Elmwood Street in Kingston, told
police the gun was his. He was charged with felony gun possession.
The other passenger, Andrew Saunders, 30, of the Bronx, was charged
with false personation, a misdemeanor, for initially giving police
a false name and date of birth.
