Three arrested after road rage incident
TARRYTOWN – Three people were arrested by State Police from
the Tarrytown Barracks for a road rage incident that began in Rockland
County and ended in Westchester County.
A vehicle occupied by Kamil Lapinski, 24, of Flushing and another,
occupied by Rexhe Muriqi, 44, and Besim Muriqi, 22, both of Stamford,
CT, had become involved in a road rage incident southbound on the
Thruway in Rockland.
During the exchange, Lapinski displayed what appeared to be a handgun.
Both vehicles stopped just before the Tarrytown toll plaza in Tarrytown
where a violent confrontation ensued, police said.
Both Muriqi subjects got out of their vehicle and dragged Lapinski
from his car and began to punch him in the face causing bruising
and lacerations.
Both Muriqi men were charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor,
and Lapinski was arrested for menacing in the second degree, a misdemeanor,
for displaying a BB gun at the Muriqi men during the road rage incident.
All three were issued appearance tickets to appear in local court.
