Two CT men charged with operating ‘major’
cocaine operation in Putnam County
SOUTHEAST – Two Danbury, CT men have been arrested on felony
drug charged for allegedly conducting a major cocaine distribution
business in shopping center parking lots throughout the Putnam County
towns of Southeast and Patterson. A kilo of cocaine worth over $100,000
was seized in the operation.
Undercover Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics investigators
infiltrated the operation and purchased cocaine from the men on
several occasions.
The investigation was expanded to the City of Danbury because of
the high grade quality of the drugs being sold and the large quantity.
Working together, Danbury Police and Putnam Sheriff’s investigators
arrested Emmanuel Taveras, 25, and Wilmer Toribio-Ventura, 23, after
they were seen selling cocaine in a Town of Southeast shopping center.
At the time of their arrest, police found $900 in cash and two ounces
of high grade cocaine in their car.
Police also searched their homes with search warrants and seized
a kilogram of cocaine valued at about $115,000, $4,000 in cash,
several pieces of high end electronic equipment and a small quantity
of heroin.
Both men were arraigned and remanded to the Putnam County Jail in
lieu of $100,000 bail.
