Wappingers man faces federal, state fraud charges

NEWBURGH – State Police at Newburgh have charged a man with dual identities with defrauding people in the Hudson Valley out of several hundred thousand dollars by using a false identity and creating several construction businesses.

Kevin Reptke, 46, of Wappingers Falls, also known as Eric Holland, was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree as a felony. Additional state and federal charges are pending further investigation, police said.

Reptke was wanted by Canadian authorities for fraud and probation violation, police said.

It was also determined that Reptke, identifying himself as Holland, established several construction businesses in the Valley, including Holland Construction, Inc., Marlboro Land Company, Inc., CGC Construction, Inc., MLC Residential Properties, Inc., and Castle group of Companies, Inc.

Using those companies and the name of Holland he entered into land deals and construction contracts, defrauding people, police allege.

He was most recently employed at The Meadows at Hyde Park in Hyde Park.

Reptke was arraigned in New Paltz Town Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
