Wappingers man faces federal, state fraud
charges
NEWBURGH – State Police at Newburgh have charged a man with
dual identities with defrauding people in the Hudson Valley out
of several hundred thousand dollars by using a false identity and
creating several construction businesses.
Kevin Reptke, 46, of Wappingers Falls, also known as Eric Holland,
was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument in the
second degree as a felony. Additional state and federal charges
are pending further investigation, police said.
Reptke was wanted by Canadian authorities for fraud and probation
violation, police said.
It was also determined that Reptke, identifying himself as Holland,
established several construction businesses in the Valley, including
Holland Construction, Inc., Marlboro Land Company, Inc., CGC Construction,
Inc., MLC Residential Properties, Inc., and Castle group of Companies,
Inc.
Using those companies and the name of Holland he entered into land
deals and construction contracts, defrauding people, police allege.
He was most recently employed at The Meadows at Hyde Park in Hyde
Park.
Reptke was arraigned in New Paltz Town Court and remanded to the
Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
