City worker arrested in drug investigation
NEWBURGH – A Newburgh City Public works employee is one of
three people arrested in the latest drug investigation by city police.
Officers executed search warrants at 3211 Route 9W in New Windsor
and at 111 South Robinson Avenue in the City of Newburgh.
The warrants resulted from a two-month investigation into the sale
and distribution of cocaine in the city and surrounding areas.
The investigation targeted Ramon Rivera, a DPW employee. The 36-year-old
New Windsor resident, as well as Holly Mead, 20, and Santos Rivera-Lopez,
84, also of New Windsor, were each charged with two felony counts
of possession of a controlled substance.
Officers seized almost seven ounces of cocaine and over $26,000
in cash.
The investigation was conducted by City of Newburgh Police Narcotics
Unit, the Joint Crimes Task Force and the New Windsor Town Police.
