Serrano sentenced to 50 years to life in Morey family killings

POUGHKEEPSIE – Mark Serrano will be spending the rest of his life behind bars.

He was sentenced in Dutchess County Court on Tuesday to 50 years to life in state prison for his role in the murders of Manuel and Tina Morey and their three sons – Manuel, 13, Adam, 10, and Ryan, 6 – in January 2007.

His accomplice, Charles Gilleo, Jr., received a similar sentence last week.

Both men were convicted of some 40 counts of first- and second-degree murder and other charges.

They had gone to the family’s Fishkill home with the intent of stealing drugs and cash from Manuel Morey. They wound up killing the entire family and then setting the house on fire to cover up their crime.
