Burglaries under investigation
POUGHKEEPSIE -- City of Poughkeepsie Police are investigating several
burglaries in the Lower Main Street section of the city that may
be related.
Two attempted burglaries took place at the same address on South
Clover Street, one on March 20 and one on March 27, between 2 p.m.
and 5 p.m. The suspect is described as a black male with a dark
complexion, medium build, short hair, clean shaven, 5 feet, 9 inches
tall and weighing 180 pounds.
This description is similar to an unknown suspect in a burglary
in progress on North Clover Street that took place on February 8
at approximately 5:40 p.m. That suspect was also described as being
in his mid-20s.
A neighbor witnessed an individual matching the same description
knocking on the door of another residence that was burglarized on
March 26 on Davies Place. That burglary took place between 8:40
a.m. and 6:50 p.m.
Police are also investigating a burglary on Washington Street that
took place at 3:30 a.m. on April 2. The victim awoke to find a man
in his room. The suspect, who is described as white male, 5 feet,
10 inches tall, 180 pounds, with short hair, fled north on Washington
Street after a brief struggle with the victim.
