Man charged with false shooting report
WHITE PLAINS – An Ossining man, who claimed last fall that
he was shot while driving on the Saw Mill River Parkway, was arrested
Wednesday and charged with two counts each of falsely reporting
an incident and obstruction of governmental administration.
Timothy Dvorscak, 27, who sustained a gunshot wound to his right
shoulder on November 1, 2007, drove to a retail complex on Route
9A in Elmsford to seek medical help. He told police he was driving
on the Saw Mill about 6 p.m. when his rear windshield blew out and
he felt a sharp pain in his upper back.
As a result of the shooting claim, police shut down a portion of
the parkway. An investigation began and police immediately determined
Dvorscak had been shot at close range with a shotgun and doubted
his version of the events.
County Police later determined he had been shot earlier in the evening
in Yonkers.
