Man stabbed twice by unknown assailant

NEWBURGH – Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred in the City of Newburgh at 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

The victim, who was interviewed at the St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital emergency room, told police he had left the Beef and Bourbon restaurant and was walking on Mill Street when an unknown man approached him and stabbed him in the right side of his back and the right thigh.

The suspect fled on foot. The victim did not report anything taken and told police he didn’t know who the identity of the suspect.

The victim was treated for non-life threatening wounds.

Newburgh City Police are continuing their investigation and ask anyone with information about this assault to call the Detective Division at 845-569-7509. All calls will be kept confidential.
