Woman
gets prison time for torching house, trying to kill father-in-law
GOSHEN – A Unionville woman was sentenced to 10 years in state
prison Thursday for her part in a plan to set fire to her father-in-law’s
house in the Village of Unionville last October in hopes of killing
him.
Tracey Doyle, 35, pled guilty to second-degree arson in connection
with a number of arsons at John Doyle’s home.
Her son, Donald Doyle, Jr., 16, who also pled guilty to third-degree
arson, was sentenced to one to three years in prison, and her daughter,
Shannon Kays, 20, was sentenced to two to six years in prison on
the same charge.
A fourth person involved, Michael Springer, 22, of Vernon, NY,
will be sentenced later.
The intended victim in these crimes was not injured.
