Man passes counterfeit $20s

MIDDLETOWN – State Police at Middletown are investigating the passing of counterfeit $20 bills on Sunday, March 9, at the End of the Line Deli and Horler’s Deli in the Village of Unionville.

The suspect used the funny money to purchase $180 in state Lottery tickets at the two delis.

A short time later, he tried unsuccessfully to pass additional counterfeit bills at CJ’s Deli in Westtown and Janie’s Deli in Slate Hill.

The suspect is described as a white male, in his early 20s, wearing a red or brown sweater, a white t-shirt underneath, and blue jeans.

Witnesses said he was about six feet, two inches tall with medium build and short brown hair.

The suspect fled in a vehicle described as a dark red or maroon compact car, possibly a Ford Focus or Toyota Corolla.
