Woman
stands up to would be robbers
NEWBURGH – Four youths attempted to rob a woman on the streets
of the City of Newburgh on Tuesday evening, but took off before
they could get anything.
The victim told city police that as she got out of her car on Monument
Street at 7:156 p.m., four males passed her car.
They asked her for the time at which point the woman took out her
cell phone. One of the youths attempted to grab it but missed; two
of the suspects then took off.
The remaining two following the woman to the front of South Junior
High School where they pulled out two handguns and demanded everything
she had.
She told them she would give them nothing and began to bang on
a window at the school to draw attention. At that point, the two
would be robbers took off on foot.
