Woman arrested on drug charges

KINGSTON – A woman, who was wanted by City of Kingston Police on a number of warrants, was charged with possession of drugs in the seventh degree after police found a crack pipe secreted in her rectum.

Ulster County Sheriff’s deputies stopped a car driven by Gwen Ellsworth on Washington Avenue in Kingston at about 9:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Sheriff’s K-9 Kilo searched the vehicle and alerted police to drugs on the seat where Ellsworth was sitting. A Search of the car turned up nothing so a female deputy searched Ellsworth and found the pipe on her.

She was charged with drug p ossession and released on an appearance ticket to Kingston City Court.
