BREWSTER – A 17-year-old Brewster teen, who was arrested
on criminal mischief charges stemming from him breaking a front
window of a Main Street, Brewster store in January, has been charged
with a stabbing in Brewster in July 2007.
Putnam County Sheriff Donald Smith said Marcos Antonio-Guerra,
who is an undocumented alien from Mexico, is responsible for the
stabbing and beating of a 53-year-old Brewster man on Marvin Avenue
last summer. During the attack, the victim was stabbed in the neck

where he underwent surgery.
As a result of the investigation, Antonio-Guerra was charged with
first-degree assault and remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu
of $50,000 bail.
He was reported to the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement
for follow up action with the federal agency lodging a detainer
against him, where he will face deportation proceedings when released
from a correctional facility.
If convicted of the assault, he could face up to 25 years in state
