Man wanted for three Sunshine State robberies arrested in Ulster County

WAWARSING – New York State Police have arrested a St. Petersburg, Florida man on a charge of being a fugitive from justice in connection with three armed robberies in the state of Florida.

Sloan Maybeck, 35, was located in the Town of Wawarsing by the New York State Police Violent Felony Warrant Squad and taken into custody without incident. He was wanted on two counts of armed robbery and one count of strong arm robbery.

Florida police want Maybeck in connection with an April 18 robbery of a Quick Stop food store and an April 19 robbery of a CVS Pharmacy, both in the City of Ocala. He is also alleged to have robbed a Chevron gas station outside Ocala in Marion County later on April 19.

He is currently being held in the Ulster County Jail pending extradition to Florida.
