One arrested, one on the lam in drug investigation

KINGSTON – The URGENT task force has arrested a Plattekill man following a narcotics investigation.

Kareem McFarland, 21, of 157 Freetown Road in Plattekill, was taken into custody by police on Friday. Police also were led to a residence in the Town of New Paltz at 3 Bud Street. They executed a search warrant and a suspect fled the scene in a vehicle and then on foot.

The suspect remains at large and a felony warrant was issued for his arrest.

When police searched the residence, they found drug paraphernalia, cutting agents and $14,000 in cash.

McFarland was charged with two counts of felony drug possession.

The investigation is continuing.
