Liquor deliveryman ripped off at customer’s store

NANUET – A deliveryman for Empire Merchants North in Kingston has $1,200 worth of liquor stolen from his truck as he was unloading a delivery at a Rockland County liquor store.

The driver told Clarkstown Police that he was making a delivery to Buy-Rite Liquors at the Rockland Center in Nanuet on Thursday morning, May 22.

He was in the process of helping another truck driver unladed from the other driver’s truck and when he returned to his vehicle, he saw a man climb out of the back, get into a silver work van and speed away.
When the deliveryman inventoried his load, he found some 60 bottles of liquor missing which was valued at about $1,200.
