Gas station robbery under investigation

POUGHKEEPSIE – Police in the Town of Poughkeepsie are investigating an armed robbery of a gas station.

Police said that about 12:20 a.m. on Friday, Mary 23, a light skinned black or Hispanic man walked into the Innis Avenue Getty station, pulled a gun on a the clerk and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

He fled on foot toward Fallkill Avenue. No injuries were reported.

The suspect was described as about six feet tall, clean shaven, with short, cropped hair, wearing a three-quarter length blue jean jacket with a red symbol on the back, gray hoodie under the jacket, dark colored sneakers and light colored blue jeans.

The City of Poughkeepsie Police K-9 unit and other city officers along with the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.
