CARMEL – A Putnam Valley man has been arrested after he allegedly contacted his wife by phone and threatened to kill her.

The man’s wife told the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office that he called her on a cell phone from their residence and threatened to kill her. The woman said her husband owned guns and that she was in fear of being killed by him.

Police went to their home at 162 Oscawana Lake Road in Putnam Valley and found her husband outside. Ramon Perez, 30, was charged with aggravated harassment in the second degree, a misdemeanor. While being arrested, he admitted to having called his wife and threatened her.

He was arraigned and remanded to the Putnam County Jail on $5,000 bail.
