| Man
sits on suspect until police arrive
NEWBURGH – A man who found a suspect sitting in his car in
front of his house in the City of Newburgh pulled him out and sat
on him until police arrived.
Police arrested Livis Oneil Robinson, 40, of 45 Dubois Street in
Newburgh.
The victim told city police that shortly after he returned on to
his 238 Powell Avenue resident at 9:45 p.m. on Sunday night, he
realized he hadn’t locked his car. When he went outside, he
saw the interior light on and as he approached, he saw a man sitting
in the front seat going through the glove box.
Robinson had taken music CDs, about $50 in cash and the victim’s
work ID.
Police questioned the suspect, who gave them a false name; they
learned his true identity when an officer recognized him.
Robinson was charged with petit larceny, criminal mischief in the
fourth degree and false personation.
