contractor charged with bribing school official
WHITE PLAINS – A Monroe man has been arrested by Eastchester
Police on two charges of bribery in the third degree.
Authorities said Thomas Keegan, 37, of 230 Mill Street in Monroe,
slipped $100 bills to two custodians at the Anne Hutchinson School,
a public school in the Eastchester School District, in exchange
for continuing to hire him and his company, Precision Roofing, Inc.
to perform repair work on the roof of the school.
On both occasions, the custodian took the money and turned it over
to the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office.
Keegan had previously approached a custodian last year and offered
to pay him money if he hired Precision Roofers to perform repair
work.
Keegan was arraigned and released on his own recognizance.
If convicted, he faces up to seven years in prison on each count.
