Parolee charged with selling drugs

KINGSTON – The Ulster Regional Gang Enforcement Narcotics Team has arrested a Kingston man on drug charges.

Vernon Williams, 48, of 66 Third Avenue, was taken into custody by members of the state Division of Parole when he reported to his parole officer in Poughkeepsie.

Williams allegedly sold heroin to an undercover operative and had been indicted by an Ulster County grand jury prior to his arrest.

He was charged with criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance in the third degree.

Williams was remanded to the Ulster County Jail without bail.
